Read For Yourself: BOE BUDGET DRAFT INDICATES TOUGH TIMES AHEAD; ZONING RAISES EMOTIONS
Mike Davis and Mickey Hall are coming for your wallet in terms of property tax increases. The State funding of the local BOE is going to to flat this year. Davis considers that “the worst hit I’ve ever seen a school district take.” What? A non-increase is not the same as a decrease. A decrease would be a “hit”, making do with what you had last year is not a hit, it’s a budget fool.
Hall, our local Chicago-type power broker in the school system, warns “If we don’t get a local increase from somewhere, there will have to be serious discussion about positions and possible programs that need to be trimmed.”
Why doesn’t Hall just say “without a property tax increase, our children will die.” He may say that eventually if he doesn’t get to grab our wallets.
The central office is bloated, cut there first. We have too many administrators who contribute nothing but paperwork. Get rid of the fat first, not the teachers. But alas, the kids will suffer before Hall, Davis, and their cronies ever get cut from home office.
Hall and Davis need to listen to Dave Ramsey and learn some financial accountability and responsibility, instead of just wanting more of our money.
Hold on people, our non-elected and unaccountable Director and Assistant Director are coming for your money, they want to keep the troughs open for their personal friends. The Scare Tactics will continue, they are banking on you being too stupid to understand what they ultimate goal is, taking your money.
The School Board can be held accountable each election cycle. We are watching.
