Why is Carroll Oakland calling?

Filed under: General Issues, Legal Issues, School Board — Wilson County School Watch @ 11:17 am

Friends of ours called and said that Carroll-Oakland principal left a message earlier this week via the schools automated message system reminding them that school starts today.

Fine.

The problem is that the family notified the school, via a form required, that their daughter is not returning to Carroll-Oakland and has withdrawn from the Wilson County School system altogether.  They told us that two other families were called as well by the same school, and their children are out of the school and the system as well.

This begs the question.  Why didn’t Carroll-Oakland and/or the School Board process the forms and remove the students from the rolls?

Several scenarios.

1.  Incompetency by the Principal/Secretary at Carroll-Oakland and/or the Administrative personnel at the School Board in not doing their job.

2.  Fiscal reasons.  By keeping the students , at least 3 that we know of, on the roster, it artificially keeps Carroll-Oaklands numbers high and their budget is thereby artificially inflated.  This could be done at either the school or school board level.  If this is the case, then action should be taken to reprimand those responsible.

Either way, there is no good excuse for not removing those kids.  This is embarrassing.

We are watching, and telling on you for not doing your job.
